“Solvitur en modo, Firmitur en rey
Gentle in what you do, Firm in how you do it.”
– Latin quote
Here’s a saying I could muse about all day long… do a gentle thing, firmly? Not quite. Perhaps we should always be gentle. Gentle in our hands and our heart. Somehow, when I read this quote, the importance of following through comes to mind.
While we should always be gentle with our animals, just like children, we still sometimes need to say: No, you really need to take out the trash. Or I love you, but don’t be rude.
Be gentle, but follow through with what you want – don’t be a push over. Don’t get angry and aggressive.
Be gentle in your heart.
